A recent 60 Minutes broadcast on the subject of laminate flooring sourced by a national flooring retailer from China has raised many questions about laminate and engineered hardwood products.Â As you can imagine we've fielded a number of questions from consumers about the products we sell and the manufacturers and suppliers we work with.MOHAWK: "Our promise to our customers is to provide the highest quality laminate and engineered hardwood flooring products that meet strict U.S. Guidelines."
- The vast majority of Mohawkâ€™s laminate products are manufactured in the U.S.
- Laminate and engineered wood flooring manufactured and sold by Mohawk Industries has been tested in accordance with the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and meets CARB Phase 2 standards.
- KentwoodÂ is Metropolitan's primary wood collection and includes both solid and engineered material. Every product within this line, be it Originals, Elements or Couture, that is produced with MDF or plywood componentsÂ is produced as CARB P2 Compliant. (Note that some production types within Kentwood do not fall within the CARB program, such as solid material.)
- Evoke LaminateÂ comes in five collection groups, all of which have passed the Section 01350 emission testing. It includes the European produced Au Naturel collection which is also FSC certified.Â All lines are CARB P2 Compliant. Some lines contain recycled content and others have rapidly renewable content, production conditions which are desired by some green building programs.
