However, countertops do play a big role in the overall look and feel of your kitchen, so some homeowners choose to invest here both for looks and also to ensure less maintenance down the road. Seamless materials such as Corian and granite countertops are more durable, as long as they don't stain, but are more expensive options. Formica and concrete can be more affordable but will add less value to your home

Vinyl and linoleum flooring is an affordable option, but adds little to the value of your kitchen. Tile, granite and wood are more expensive options and will help to increase the value of your home. However, the more expensive flooring options are also the more expensive to maintain and keep looking new. Kitchen are places where there is often damage from stains, grease, heat and moisture.
